Freedom from Terror ?

Terror strikes again, this time just outside the Delhi High court. We say it is a mindless act, but the terrorist who carry out such dastardly acts think otherwise. Time and again innocent people get caught in the web of terror and lose their lives, families are destroyed and the national psyche takes a hit. Politicians of all hues while pretending to be united in their cause for the fight against terror do not fail to utilise the occasion to further their political agenda.

It seems the law of diminishing returns doesn't apply to terrorist acts. The only law such people know is the one which gives unlimited freedom to carry out such attacks. We have done away with TADA, POTA which were seen to be misused and most of the time wrongly implemented. The baby was thus thrown out along with the bath water. The political class have often misused such laws for their own gains, leading to good laws being discarded. The so called secular parties are loath to take action against certain communities based on vote bank politics.

The cliche "Terrorism has no religion" has been used to protect certain communities which harbour terror elements and give them back room support. These sleeper cells are well known to the law enforcement agencies but for lack of political will no action is taken to bust them. It is a sad state of affairs when in a vibrant democracy as ours terrorist are allowed to act at will. The judicial system is also a major culprit in boosting the morale of terrorist as the law is interpreted liberally and they are let of the hook on flimsy grounds.

It is high time the government wakes up and acts decisively against all terror activities and ensure justice is meted out expeditiously. Vote bank politics will back fire and the time is not far off when  people will come on to the streets and this time around it may not be non violent like the Anna Hazare movement against corruption. Our lives are at stake and it is our right to live a peaceful and fruitful life devoid of fear, especially against unknown terrorist acts.

New tough anti terror laws have to enacted with the support of all political parties and the police should be given a free hand to get at the culprits. Judiciary should also appreciate that the trial should not drag on and on , justice should be immediate, due course of law should be followed but undue delay can not be condoned.

On this joyous occasion of Onam i wish all my friends and their family years of happiness, of plenty, of success and most of all life devoid of fear, life full of joy and merriment.

Jai Hind.

Gods of war

Norway has shown us that there is a new face of  terror inspired by religion, this time Christian. Religion is the root cause of all violence, death caused due to this is far greater that any other issue. How can one forget the terror unleashed against the Jews by the mad man Hitler. The proxy war against India by Pakistan is based on the assumption that Kashmir should belong to them as it is a Muslim majority state. They, conveniently forget how their eastern counterpart decided to split even though they belonged to the same religion.

It is high time we reflected on the issue of religion and if it is in the interest of Humanity, that religion be done away with, for the cause of peace and harmony, so be it. We should disband all religious groups. sects and faiths. Temples, mosques, churches, Synagogues, etc., should be closed down and we should just live within the present framework of legalities as laid down under the constitution.

How could we fight in the name of religion, even as  each religious sect declares from the rooftop that their religion  stands for peace and brotherhood, it quietly goes about proselytising. The main cause of discord is religion, its preaching teaches us that our religion is the true one and the others are either non believers of followers of false gods.

If god does exist and religion is really needed then the gods should confer among themselves and arrive at an understanding on the issue of modern religion and its divisive effect on society. An avatar should come down to earth carrying full authority on behalf of all the gods and spread this message.I hope this is not asking for too much in the cause of peace and everlasting bliss.

How corrupt are we

We all get outraged at the corruption prevailing in our country. There is a lot of talk as to how this menace ought to be controlled - the emphasis here is control and not eradicate - by right thinking citizens. Whole shows on TV is dedicated in this direction not to mention reams of newsprint.

Is only taking or giving bribes for getting things done or undone the only form of corruption prevailing in our country? i would say no. There is a lot of other ways and means of corruption that we have to consider, in order to understand the implication of what a nation led by corrupt leadership can end up in.

The corruption of moral values, of the mind,  is also as dangerous as other forms of this disease. It is just a step away from being morally corrupt to accepting cash/favours/gifts for doing the job one is already paid to do. The billions stashed away as black money in accounts abroad is the highest form of corruption and the amount involved would be multi times the value of treasure unearthed in the Padmanabha swamy temple.

There is a lot of pain involved in tackling the issue of corruption as the disease will not abate without giving a tough fight. The pleasure that follows pain would be worth the fight against this malaise.

This time around we as proud citizens of India are determined to get what is our right, governance sans corruption, so that the future generation will thank us for giving them a strong platform from which to leap forward to conquer the world with head held up high.

Ancient temple treasure,

It all started with one disgruntled person trying to get even with the organisation he feels has slighted him.

I am talking here about the Padmanabha swamy temple treasure trove. The matter started with the Kerala HC ordering the temple to be managed by some govt controlled trust, thanks to the SC it was not allowed to happen. Now even the SC in its wisdom has restrained the evaluators to stop the job and to start listing, tabulating and evaluating the treasure found till date. People from all walks of life have differing views on what should be done with the treasure.

In my view the treasure does not belong to any one other than Bhagavan Padmanabha swamy.

If at all any of the wealth has to be spent it should be in the interest of the temple and Hindu citizens only.

The government or politicians of any hue should be barred from coming anywhere near the treasure, enough wealth, land, money of innumerable Hindu temples have been looted by non Hindu, anti Hindu politicians, governments in our country.

Let us gather around and rally for the right's of temple property, all Hindus should come together for the common good of the community.
